| | | | | | | | RECOMMENDATION
Adopt a resolution which certifies that the County maintains 1,189.762 miles of road. |
| | | | | | | | SUMMARY
The County maintains about 1,190 miles of road. |
| | | | | | | | DISCUSSION
County roads are maintained with gas tax revenues. The County is required to certify the maintained mileage annually (Streets and Highways Code Section 2121). Changes result from annexations, abandonments, corrections, etc. On November 15, 2016, the Board of Supervisors abandoned a portion of Pacheco School Road to Pacheco Union School District so the latter could make safety improvements. |
| | | | | | | | ALTERNATIVES
The Board may decline to certify the mileage. Gas tax revenues may be jeopardized. The Board may elect to add or delete roads. Procedural steps would be entailed. Costs and other liabilities may be incurred. |
| | | | | | | | OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT
County Counsel has approved the resolution as to form. The recommendation has been reviewed by the County Administrative Office. |
| | | | | | | | FINANCING
The Adopted 2016/2017 Road Fund budget includes funds for this activity. There is no General Fund impact. |
