DISCUSSION
Having been involved with Shasta County since 1979 as a foster parent Raelene was hired as a Foster Parent Liaison on November 22, 1999. Raelene has been a compassionate partner and advocate for Shasta County foster families; always willing to go above and beyond to help families in need regardless of the time or the day. In her 17 years with Shasta County she has seen many changes during her time here but has always been reliable and unwavering in her ability to represent Shasta County and foster parents in a warm, professional manner.
Her expertise and knowledge as a foster and adoptive parent (3 birth children, 7 adopted children), provided her a platform to train, teach and mentor hundreds of foster families through her years here. As a foster parent, Raelene and her husband have cared for over 600 children. Undoubtedly, each child was impacted positively as a cherished member of their family. Raelene is irreplaceable, she has earned her retirement and can peacefully enjoy her 28 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren on her next journey. |
