Approve a budget amendment increasing appropriations by $58,309 in the Sheriff's budget to be offset by a contribution from the County Fingerprint Automation Trust Fund to align LiveScan contract expenditures with the budget. |
| | | | | | | | SUMMARY
A budget amendment to increase appropriations, offset by the contribution from the County Fingerprint Automation Trust fund is needed to align available funds in the Sheriff’s Budget to approved contract expenditures. |
| | | | | | | | DISCUSSION
The Board approved an agreement with 3M Cogent on November 15, 2016 for upgrade of certain Live Scan equipment. A budget amendment is needed to align the Sheriff’s budget to expenditures related to this equipment upgrade, establish a capital asset account for purchase of four Live Scan fingerprint scanners. The proposed budget amendment will increase appropriations $58,309, offset by a contribution from the County Fingerprint Automation Trust fund, and allow for the Auditor-Controller to establish the capital asset account. |
| | | | | | | | ALTERNATIVES
The Board may choose to not approve this amendment. |
| | | | | | | | OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT
The County Administrative Office has reviewed the recommendation. The Auditor-Controller will process the budget amendment if approved. |
| | | | | | | | FINANCING
The proposed budget amendment increases appropriations $58,309, offset by a contribution from the County Fingerprint Automation Trust fund and establishes a new capital asset account. Sufficient appropriations exist in the Trust fund for this request. There is no additional General Fund impact with approval of this recommendation. |
