RECOMMENDATION

Reappoint Barbara Harrison-Smith as the District 2 representative, reappoint Thomas Doyal Watson, M.D. as the District 3 representative, and appoint Richard Kern as the District 4 to the Commission on Aging for two-year terms to expire January 2019.

DISCUSSION

The Commission on Aging consists of eight commissioners:  five Supervisorial District representatives and three members serving as representatives for the Cities of Redding, Anderson, and Shasta Lake.  The Commission on Aging is an advisory body that provides recommendations to the Planning and Service Area 2, Area Agency on Aging, Advisory Council and the Board of Supervisors concerning services for seniors. 

 

The Clerk of the Board posted the required Notices of Vacancy, a copy of the Affidavit of Posting is on file in the Clerk of the Board's office. 

 

 

 

 

 

ALTERNATIVES

The Board of Supervisors may deny the request, however, this will leave the Commission on Aging with vacancies. 

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT

The County Administrative Office has reviewed the recommendation.

There is no General Fund impact associated with the recommended action.
