RECOMMENDATION

Approve an evergreen no compensation MOU, effective date of signing, with Shasta Training and Consulting to continue to provide substance use disorder related training and coordination.

DISCUSSION

On February 2, 2021, Shasta County entered into an agreement with Shasta Training and Consulting (Shasta Training) for the provision of substance use disorder related training, coalition development, and meeting facilitation. These services are designed to maximize coordination and communication among groups working to address the opioid crisis in Shasta County and to advance understanding of addiction and treatment.

Since entering into the agreement, Shasta Training is a critical provider, furthering efforts to establish a Shasta County Substance Use Coalition to foster communication, collaboration, and non-duplication of effort among existing projects and groups. The Coalition is a recognized entity dedicated to advancing and streamlining community efforts to promote understanding of substance use, advance treatment, and mitigate impacts of the opioid crisis in Shasta County.

Through this MOU Shasta Training and Consulting agrees to continue to provide Substance Use Disorder-focused services, as previously established, and agrees to seek funding sources for these activities with no funds exchanged with Shasta County.
