| | | | | | | | RECOMMENDATION
Adopt a resolution recognizing Health and Human Services Agency-Regional Services Branch Employment and Training Worker Supervisor Robin Bostain as Shasta County's 2016 Employee of the Year. |
| | | | | | | | SUMMARY
The Employee Recognition Program is governed by the Shasta County Personnel Rules. The Employee Recognition Committee screens nominations for Employee of the Month and Employee of the Year and recommends appropriate candidates for these awards to the Board of Supervisors. The Employee Recognition Committee is now submitting its nomination for the 2016 Employee of the Year. |
| | | | | | | | DISCUSSION
This is the twenty-second year of the Shasta County Employee Recognition Program. In order to select the 2016 Employee of the Year, the Employee Recognition Committee carefully reviewed nominations. All the nominees have outstanding credentials and are deserving of this award. However, after carefully considering each nominee, the Employee Recognition Committee recommends that Ms. Robin Bostain, Employment & Training Worker Supervisor, Health and Human Services Agency, Regional Services Branch, CalWORKs Employment Services Division be selected as the 2016 Employee of the Year.
Ms. Bostain was instrumental in the development and implementation of the Family Stabilization Program (FaSt) and the Housing Support Program to help reduce homelessness in the community and teach people the skills needed to live self-sufficiently. She was instrumental in designing the rules and regulations of how to manage the FaSt caseload. In explaining the FaSt program to clients, Ms. Bostain balances empathy with practicality, letting clients know what services are offered while being clear that the client is expected to actively participate.
The Employee Recognition Committee is pleased and honored to recommend Ms. Robin Bostain to the Board of Supervisors as the 2016 Employee of the Year.
