Approve and authorize the Public Works Director to sign a Notice of Completion for the “2022 Redding Regional Septage Impoundment 1B Cleanout,” Contract No. 207541, and record it within 15 days of actual completion. |
| | | | | | | | DISCUSSION
On May 31, 2022, Stimpel-Wiebelhaus Associates was awarded the contract for construction on the project. The 2022 Redding Regional Septage Impoundment 1B Cleanout project in general consists of drying, loading, hauling, and disposing of approximately 1400 tons of septage sludge contained within Impoundmemt 1B and dike wall butress along the edge of impoundment E1. The work is nearly complete. |

The Board may decline to authorize the filing of a Notice of Completion. The lien period would extend for 90 days instead of 30 days. Final payment to the contractor would be delayed by 60 days. |

The Recommendation has been reviewed by the County Administrative Office. |
| | | | | | | | FISCAL IMPACT
The total cost of the project is estimated to be $410,000. Sufficient appropriations have been included in the Adopted Fiscal Year 2022-23 Solid Waste Administration budget. The septage ponds are funded through tipping fees collected from septage haulers. |
