RECOMMENDATION

Approve and authorize the Public Works Director to sign a Notice of Completion for the “Cascade Office Building Storm Drain Repair Project,” Contract No. 610947, and record it within 15 days of actual completion.

DISCUSSION

On July 26, 2022, Sunrise Excavating was awarded the contract for construction on the Cascade Office Building Storm Drain Repair project.  The project in general consists of replacing approximately 1,060 feet of storm drainpipe from the Cascade Office Building parking lot to Oregon Gulch.  The work is nearly complete.

ALTERNATIVES

The Board may decline to authorize the filing of a Notice of Completion.  The lien period would extend for 90 days instead of 30 days.  Final payment to the contractor would be delayed by 60 days.

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT

The Recommendation has been reviewed by the County Administrative Office.

FISCAL IMPACT

The total cost of the project is estimated to be $500,000. Adequate appropriations have been included in the Adopted Fiscal Year 2022-23 Land, Buildings & Improvements budget.  Social Services fund balance will cover the project cost.
