Adopt a resolution which approves the temporary partial closure of Deschutes Road in the Palo Cedro area for the purpose of holding the annual Palo Cedro Christmas Festival. |

An annual Christmas event is proposed along Deschutes Road in Palo Cedro. |
| | | | | | | | DISCUSSION
On December 9, 2016, the Palo Cedro Chamber of Commerce will host the annual Palo Cedro Christmas Festival. The event will include a Christmas tree lighting ceremony, live music, children’s activities, tractor-train rides and vendors. Activities are proposed along both sides of Deschutes Road from Cedro Lane to Old Forty Four Drive. Temporary closure of Deschutes Road is proposed from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Through traffic will detour via Cedro Lane. |

The Board may decline to allow closure of Deschutes Road. Event activities and/or participant safety may be impaired. |

County Counsel has approved the resolution as to form. The County Administrative Office has reviewed this recommendation. |

Adequate funds to prepare the proposed resolution were included in the Adopted 2016/17 Road fund budget. There is no General Fund impact. |
