RECOMMENDATION

Approve and authorize the Public Works Director to sign a Notice of Completion for the Replace Asphalt Concrete Surfacing – 2016 project, Contract No. 706745, and record it within 15 days of actual completion of the work.

SUMMARY

The Clear Creek Road resurfacing project is complete.

DISCUSSION

On August 16, 2016, a construction contract was awarded to Darren Taylor Construction, Inc. Severely deteriorated pavement was removed and replaced on Clear Creek Road and Cloverdale Road. The project was funded with Solid Waste fees.

ALTERNATIVES

The Board may decline to file a Notice of Completion. The lien period would extend for 90 days instead of 30 days. Final payment to the contractor would be delayed by 60 days.

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT

The recommendation has been reviewed by the County Administrative Office.

FINANCING

The total cost of this project is estimated to be $250,000. Adequate funds were included in the Adopted 2016/17 Solid Waste budget. There is no General Fund impact.
