RECOMMENDATION

Approve an amendment, effective date of signing, to the evergreen no maximum compensation agreement with SacValley MedShare to provide a Health Information Exchange which adds analytical dashboards in the amount of $2,500 per quarter, to be paid in advance, retaining the effective date of March 26, 2019.

DISCUSSION

On March 26, 2019, the Board approved an agreement to authorize the Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) to participate in a regional Health Information Exchange (HIE) to securely share patient’s medical information with other providers and non-providers via SacValley MedShare’s software and system thereby improving patient care and increasing efficiency.  Approval of this amendment, will allow HHSA to also access analytical data dashboards, including a COVID-19 dashboard.


ALTERNATIVES

The Board could choose not to approve the amendment, defer consideration to a future date, or provide alternate direction to staff.


OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT

County Counsel has approved the amendment as to form.  Risk Management and County Information Technology have approved the amendment.  This recommendation has been reviewed by the County Administrative Office.


FISCAL IMPACT

HHSA’s FY 2019-20 Adjusted Budget includes sufficient appropriation authority for the activities described in this agreement.
