RECOMMENDATION

Approve and authorize the Chairman to sign a letter to Governor Gavin Newsom regarding a regional approach to the first phase of recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

DISCUSSION

At their regular meeting of April 21, 2020, the Board of Supervisors discussed sending such a letter to Governor Newsom and directed staff to prepare a future agenda item.

ALTERNATIVES

The Board could modify the letter or could decide not to send a letter.

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT

The Health and Human Services Agency was involved in preparation of the letter.

FISCAL IMPACT

Fiscal impacts of COVID-19 response and recovery are still being determined.
