SUMMARYAdopt a proclamation which will be presented to One Safe Place designating April 2018 as “Sexual Assault Awareness Month” in Shasta County. This proclamation is one of the activities sponsored by One Safe Place designated to highlight the needs and rights of victims of sexual assault.

DISCUSSIONEvery April, Sexual Assault Awareness Month brings an opportunity to focus awareness on sexual violence and its prevention. The Board of Supervisors proclamation will show their support in recognizing sexual violence as a major public health issue and support the need for prevention and awareness efforts in Shasta County.
