Approve and authorize the Chairman to sign a retroactive amendment, effective January 1, 2018, to the conflict indigent defense services agreement with Aaron Williams to recognize new corporation status, retaining the term January 1, 2018 through December 31, 2022. |
| | | | | | | | DISCUSSION
On December 12, 2017, the Board approved an agreement with Aaron Williams, a sole proprietorship, to administrate a group of subcontract attorneys to provide conflict indigent defense services for Shasta County. Mr. Williams has applied for and received corporation status as “The Law Office of Aaron Williams, Inc.” The corporation is also registered with the California Secretary of State. Approval of the amendment will allow processing of any payments to Mr. Williams under his corporate status and new tax identification number. The amendment is retroactive in order for the effective date to match the effective date of the agreement, which is January 1, 2018. |
