On behalf of County Service Area (CSA) No. 6-Jones Valley Water, approve and authorize the Chairman to sign an amendment to the agreement with PACE Engineering, Inc. to increase compensation by $45,000, for a new total not to exceed $128,900, and retain the term July 18, 2017 through July 17, 2020, to provide additional environmental studies for the leak detection and meter replacement project. |
| | | | | | | | SUMMARY
Environmental studies are proposed pursuant to a leak detection and meter replacement project in the CSA. |
| | | | | | | | DISCUSSION
On July 18, 2017, the Board entered into an agreement with PACE Engineering, Inc. to provide engineering services for leak detection and water system improvements to CSA No. 6-Jones Valley Water. The scope of work included California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) compliance for construction of improvements. The Department of Water Resources (DWR) has since related that all state grant funds have been expended. Federal construction funding is available subject to compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). NEPA compliance activities are proposed for inclusion in the PACE agreement. |
| | | | | | | | ALTERNATIVES
The Board may decline to approve the amendment. NEPA compliance is a prerequisite to federal funding. |
| | | | | | | | OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT
County Counsel has approved the amendment as to form. Risk Management has reviewed and approved the amendment. The recommendation has been reviewed by the County Administrative Office. |
| | | | | | | | FINANCING
The proposed work will be funded through the existing $200,000 grant from DWR. Adequate funds are included in the Adopted 2017/2018 CSA budget. There is no General Fund Impact. |
