RECOMMENDATION

Adopt a salary resolution, effective December 24, 2017, which amends Shasta County’s Salary Schedule increasing the salary range to five percent above the 2018 California minimum wage ($11.00) for various job classifications.

DISCUSSION

Pursuant to the California minimum wage increase to $11.00 per hour effective January 1, 2018, the recommended modifications align the classifications listed to a salary range five percent above said minimum wage.  All other County classification salaries are above the recommended modifications.

ALTERNATIVES

The Board may choose to not approve the recommendations or make modifications in whole or in part; however, this is not recommended as the changes will allow the County to align with California’s minimum wage increase.

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT

This recommendation has been reviewed by the County Administrative Office.

FINANCING

The financial impacts of the recommendation will be budgeted within the respective County Departments.
