RECOMMENDATION

Approve and authorize the Public Works Director to sign a Notice of Completion for the “Bridge Preventive Maintenance Project,” Contract No. 705936, and record it within 15 days of actual completion of the work.

SUMMARY

The Bridge Preventive Maintenance Project is nearly complete.

DISCUSSION

On August 15, 2017, American Civil Constructors West Coast, LLC was awarded the contract for the Bridge Preventive Maintenance Project.  Deck treatments and joint seal replacements are nearly complete. The work on this project is estimated to be completed on October 20, 2017.

ALTERNATIVES

The Board may decline to file a Notice of Completion. The lien period would extend for 90 days instead of 30 days. Final payment to the contractor would be delayed by 60 days.

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT

The County Administrative Office has reviewed this recommendation.

FINANCING

The total cost of this project is estimated to be $288,000. Federal funds will cover 88.53% ($255,000). The County’s share will be 11.47% ($33,000). Adequate funds are included in the Adopted FY 2017/2018 Road Fund budget. There is no General Fund impact.
