professional services, retaining the original term through June 30, 2050.
|
| | | | | | | | SUMMARY
This amendment will allow for the implementation of the COGNOS-Disclosure Management Reporting Software which will facilitate the preparation of the County’s annual Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR).
|
| | | | | | | | DISCUSSION
In May 2015, Shasta County updated the county financial system to the current version, ONESolution. After this upgrade, the vendor supplied financial statements were no longer supported. We have been able to use the supplied statements, but it is becoming increasingly more difficult as we incrementally update the financial system. Implementation of COGNOS-Disclosure Management will allow the County to write new financial statements and integrate the statements with the narratives for the CAFR, ultimately reducing county staff time in preparation. Counties that have implemented this software have experienced up to a 50% reduction in staff time within the second year of implementation.
COGNOS-DM will also be able to be utilized for any reports that are prepared on a recurring basis utilizing multiple databases and narratives.
