RECOMMENDATIONAdopt a policy resolution which establishes Administrative Policy 2-202, Department Responsibility for Cost Recovery.
SUMMARYThis policy establishes guidelines for recovering full cost when setting fees for service and procedures for an annual review of fees.
DISCUSSIONA policy of full cost recovery when setting fees means that the agency or individual benefitting from a service is the one paying for that service instead all County taxpayers. In addition, a regular review will mean fees will more accurately reflect the current cost of providing services.

ALTERNATIVESThe Board could choose not to adopt the Department Responsibility for Cost Recovery policy at this time or suggest alternative language.
