RECOMMENDATION

Approve and authorize the Chairman to sign an amendment to the lease agreement with Jennifer Cooper to reflect recorded ownership in the name of Jennifer Cooper and to update the address to which notices and lease payments are sent for the existing County leased space at 36911 Main Street, Burney, retaining the original lease payment schedule and term.

SUMMARY

N/A

DISCUSSION

Recorded property ownership has been changed from Jennifer Cooper, Trustee of the Luella F. Cooper 2000 Revocable Trust to Jennifer Cooper. This second amendment will bring the lease terms into alignment with the updated recorded property ownership records and update the property owner’s and County’s contact information for submission of notices and lease payments.

ALTERNATIVES

There is no other viable option unless the Board would like to consider renegotiating the lease terms or terminating the lease agreement.

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT

County Counsel has approved the lease as to form.  Risk Management previously approved the original agreement.  There is no change to liability or insurance provisions in this amendment.  The recommendation has been reviewed by the County Administrative Office.

FINANCING

The rent for this agreement has been included in the current FY 2017-18 Adopted Budget and will be included in future fiscal year budget submissions.  There is no additional General Fund impact from the recommended action.
