RECOMMENDATION

Take the following actions: (1) Conduct a public hearing to consider adopting an ordinance adding Section 17.88.132, Accessory Dwelling Units to the Shasta County Code, Title 17, Zoning Plan; and (2) continue the public hearing to September 12, 2017.

On August 10, 2017, the Planning Commission recommended this item to the Board. Additional time is requested to prepare this ordinance and respond to questions previously raised.

The Board could set this item to different date.

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT

The County Administrative Office has reviewed this recommendation.

FINANCING

The cost of developing the draft ordinance, estimated at $10,000, has been absorbed through salary savings in the planning division budget.  Currently there are no general fund dollars allocated for this project.
