RECOMMENDATION

Adopt a salary resolution, effective August 20, 2017, which amends the Shasta County Position Allocation List to reclassify positions within the Auditor-Controller's budget as follows: (1) From 1.0 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) Accountant Auditor III to 1.0 FTE Supervising Accountant; and (2) from 1.0 FTE Executive Assistant-Confidential to 1.0 FTE Agency Staff Services Analyst I/II-Confidential.

DISCUSSION

The proposed recommendation is a modification to the Shasta County Position Allocation List within the Auditor Controller’s office. The recommendation is the result of Position Classification Questionnaires received from department employees. The Position Classification Questionnaire is utilized by a Department Head or employee, who requests a position to be reviewed to determine its appropriate classification. The primary focus in analyzing positions is to determine the current functions of the job and whether the position has had a significant change in duties, level of responsibilities, and/or qualifications.  The involved employees and department head were made aware of the appeals process included in the Classification Questionnaire analysis process, no appeal was received.

ALTERNATIVES

The Board may choose to not approve the recommendations in whole or in part.

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT

The proposed recommendations have been reviewed by the County Administrative Office, the Auditor Controller’s office, and the Director of Support Services.

FINANCING

The Auditor Controller’s FY 2017-18 Adopted Budgets include sufficient appropriations.  There is no additional General Fund impact from the recommended action.
