RECOMMENDATION

Adopt a salary resolution, effective September 3, 2017, which amends the Shasta County Position Allocation List within the District Attorney’s budget to remove the sunset date June 30, 2018 from the following positions: (1) 1.0 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) District Attorney Investigator I/II; and (2) 1.0 FTE Deputy District Attorney I/II/III.

DISCUSSION

The District Attorney’s Investigator I/II and Deputy District Attorney I/II/III positions being updated are not grant funded positions. These positions work specifically with Consumer Fraud and are funded through protected, non-discretionary funds for those specific functions. Sunset dates for these positions are no longer appropriate as there is sufficient funding for these two positions in Fiscal Year 2017-18.

The Board may choose to not approve the recommendations in whole or in part.

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT

The District Attorney has reviewed and approved this recommendation.  The County Administrative Office has reviewed this recommendation.   

FINANCING

There is no additional General Fund impact with approval of this recommendation.
