| | | | | | | | RECOMMENDATION
Approve and authorize the Chairman to sign an agreement with Dokken Engineering in an amount not to exceed $68,324.56 to provide right-of-way services for the "Gas Point Road Widening Project," Contract No. 702976, for the period August 23, 2017 through May 1, 2018. |
| | | | | | | | SUMMARY
An agreement with Dokken Engineering is proposed for right-of-way services to widen Gas Point Road. |
| | | | | | | | DISCUSSION
Federal Highway Safety Improvement Project (HSIP) funds have been secured to widen Gas Point Road from Charles Street to Ludwig Gulch in Cottonwood. Right-of-way must be secured by March 1, 2018, to meet applicable deadlines. A consultant is proposed to prepare appraisals and negotiate acquisitions. On June 19, 2017, the County issued a request for proposals (RFP) for these services. Four proposals were received and evaluated. Dokken Engineering was selected as the most qualified candidate. |
| | | | | | | | ALTERNATIVES
The Board may decline to award the agreement. Right-of-Way services are needed to acquire the necessary project right of way. County staff could initiate the work but deadlines may not be met due to staffing limitations. |
| | | | | | | | OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT
Caltrans oversees the project funding. County Counsel has approved the agreement as to form. Risk Management has reviewed and approved the agreement. The recommendation has been reviewed by the County Administrative Office. |
| | | | | | | | FINANCING
The total project cost estimate is $1,370,500. Federal funds will cover 90% including the proposed consultant services. Adequate funds are included in the Adopted FY 2017/18 Roads budget. There is no General Fund impact. |
