RECOMMENDATION

Take the following actions: (1) Repeal Resolution No. 2016-102; (2) adopt a resolution which authorizes the Shasta County Arts Council to apply for and accept the Federal Fiscal Years 2017-18 and 2018-19 California Arts Council Grant State/Local Partnership Program Grant; and (3) receive a presentation from Shasta County Arts Council Executive Director Debra Lucero.

SUMMARY

Annually the Board is asked to adopt a resolution which allows the Shasta County Arts Council to seek state grant funding.

DISCUSSION

The Shasta County Arts Council would like to make a brief presentation to the Board regarding local activities and the National Arts and Humanities Month in October. Additionally, the Shasta County Arts Council requests the Board adopt the annual resolution that allows them to seek state grant funding.

ALTERNATIVES

The Board could choose not to receive the presentation and/or adopt the resolution.

None.

There is no General Fund impact associated with approval of the recommendation.
