RECOMMENDATION

Take the following actions: (1) Approve a budget amendment increasing appropriations and revenue by $150,000 within the Fiscal Year (FY) 2017-18 Lands, Buildings and Improvements budget for the "Resource Management Expansion Project;" and (2) approve a budget amendment increasing appropriations by $173,980 within the FY 2017-18 Resource Management budget for the "Resource Management Expansion Project" to be offset by use of unassigned fund balance.

SUMMARY

A budget amendment is proposed to complete the Resource Management Expansion Project and purchase furniture.

DISCUSSION

On May 9, 2017, the Board awarded the Resource Management Expansion project to Walker Construction.  Construction has commenced.  Costs of $150,000 will be incurred in FY 17/18 to complete the project. These expenditures need to be included in the FY 17/18 LB&I budget.  The total project budget remains at $206,600.

Additional appropriations of $23,980 are requested in the Resource Management budget for the purchase of furnishings and equipment for the expansion.

ALTERNATIVES

The Board may decline to approve the budget amendment.  Currently budgeted appropriations in the FY 17/18 LB&I budget will be insufficient to pay the contractor.

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT

Resource Management supports this recommendation. The County Administrative Office have reviewed this recommendation.

FINANCING

Total estimated cost for the Resource Management Expansion project remains unchanged at $206,600. There is General Fund impact with the Resource Management Expansion project.
