| | | | | | | | RECOMMENDATION
Approve and authorize the Chairman to sign an amendment, effective date of signing, to the agreement with Basic Laboratory, Inc. in the amount not to exceed $150,000 per fiscal year to provide laboratory analysis services extending the term of the agreement by one month through July 31, 2017. |

A one-month extension to an existing agreement with Basic Laboratories is proposed. |
| | | | | | | | DISCUSSION
The County operates water, wastewater and solid waste facilities. Analytical laboratory testing services are required to comply with applicable regulations. The County is currently circulating a Request for Proposals for these services. The existing agreement with Basic Laboratories will expire on July 1, 2017. A one-month contract extension is proposed to maintain continuity of service until a new service provider is in place. |

The Board may decline to extend the agreement. Compliance monitoring programs would be impacted. |

County Counsel has approved the amendment as to form. Risk Management has reviewed and approved the amendment. The recommendation has been reviewed by the County Administrative Office. |

Adequate funds for testing for the various facilities have been included in the applicable Proposed FY 2017/2018 budgets. There is no General Fund impact. |
