Award to the low bidder, Twin Builders, Inc., on a lump sum basis, the contract for the “Mental Health Basement Remodel Project,” Contract No. 610446, in the amount of $727,571. |

| | | | | | | | DISCUSSION
On May 2, 2017, the Board approved plans and specifications and directed advertising for bids to remodel the basement of the Mental Health Building located at 2640 Breslauer Way. This building is the old Shasta General Hospital. The kitchen and cafeteria were in the basement. A remodel is proposed to create offices, break room, meeting room, restrooms and ADA compliant parking. Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) staff would occupy the space. On June 8, 2017, six bids were received and opened. The low bidder was Twin Builders, Inc., in the amount of $727,571. |

The Board may reject all bids. The Board may elect to rebid the project or decline to proceed with the project at this time. |
| | | | | | | | OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT
HHSA Administration supports this project. County Counsel has approved the contract documents as to form. Risk Management has reviewed and approved the contract documents. The recommendation has been reviewed by the County Administrative Office. |

The total cost of the Mental Health Basement Remodel Project is estimated to be $1,200,000. HHSA will fund this project. The Remodel Project has been included in the Proposed FY 2017/18 LB&I Budget. There is no additional General Fund impact. |
