RECOMMENDATION

Approve and authorize the Chairman to sign a letter to the Board of State and Community Corrections to confirm relinquishment of Shasta County's Senate Bill 1022 Adult Local Criminal Justice Facilities Construction Financing Program funding conditional award.

DISCUSSION

On January 24, 2017, the Board of Supervisors directed staff to take action toward terminating Shasta County’s participation in the SB1022 State funding process for the Shasta County Adult Rehabilitation Center.  The proposed letter has been requested by Board of State and Community Corrections staff so their Board can acknowledge and accept County of Shasta's relinquishment of the conditional award.

ALTERNATIVES

The Board of Supervisors can suggest modifications to the letter.

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT

Board of State and Community Corrections staff and County Counsel reviewed the letter.

FINANCING

There is no additional General Fund impact to process and send the letter in response to the request by Board of State and Community Corrections staff.
