RECOMMENDATION

Approve and authorize the Public Works Director to sign a Notice of Completion for the Shasta County Coroner’s Office Addition Project, Contract No. 610429, and record it within 15 days of actual completion of the work.

SUMMARY

The Coroner’s Office Addition Project is nearly complete.

DISCUSSION

On August 23, 2016, the Coroner’s Office Addition Project was awarded to JH Mack Construction. The project added 955 square feet of office space along with miscellaneous interior and exterior improvements. The project has gone smoothly and will conclude next week.

ALTERNATIVES

The Board may decline to file a Notice of Completion. The lien period would extend for 90 days instead of 30 days. Final payment to the contractor would be delayed by 60 days.

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT

The recommendation has been reviewed by the County Administrative Office.

FINANCING

The total estimated cost of the project is $740,000. Adequate funds were included in the Adopted FY 2016/17 Land Buildings & Improvement budget. There is no additional General Fund Impact.
