| | | | | | | | RECOMMENDATION
Approve and authorize the Chairman to sign a Freeway Maintenance Agreement with Caltrans for State Highway Route 44. |
| | | | | | | | SUMMARY
A revised Freeway Maintenance Agreement is proposed for State Route 44. |
| | | | | | | | DISCUSSION
Freeway Maintenance Agreements (FMA) assign maintenance responsibilities for mainline and connecting roads. In 1965, the County and Caltrans entered into a FMA for State Route 44 from Redding city limits to the Millville area. In 2006, that agreement was revised to recognize expanded City limits. Improvements are proposed for the State Route 44 at Stillwater Road interchange. An updated agreement is proposed to recognize the new configuration. |
| | | | | | | | ALTERNATIVES
The Board may decline to approve the Agreement at this time. Construction may be delayed. |
| | | | | | | | OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT
County Counsel has approved the Agreement as to form. Risk Management has reviewed and approved the Agreement. The recommendation has been reviewed by the County Administrative Office. |
| | | | | | | | FINANCING
The Adopted 2016/17 Road Fund budget includes sufficient funds to administer the County road system. There is no General Fund impact. |
