RECOMMENDATION Reappoint Tim MacLean (District 2 appointment) and Roy Ramsey (District 4 appointment) to the Shasta County Planning Commission for four-year terms to expire January 2021.


SUMMARY Not applicable.


DISCUSSION The Shasta County Planning Commission is composed of five members. The term of Messrs. MacLean (District 2) and Ramsey (District 4) have expired. Supervisors Moty and Morgan have recommended reappointment for four years terms, expiring January 2021. Per Shasta County Code section 2.48.030 Planning Commission-Membership-Appointment; "Each member of the Board of Supervisors shall nominate for appointment or propose for reappointment to the commission, one member of the public, who shall be a resident of the district represented by that Supervisor. When a supervisor is proposing the reappointment of a sitting member of the commission, a nomination is not required.


ALTERNATIVES The Board of Supervisors could choose not to reappoint Mr. MacLean and Mr. Ramsey and seek other qualified candidates.
