Accept the County Clerk/Registrar of Voters's Canvass of the November 8, 2016 Presidential General Election. (Page 82)

DISCUSSION

California Elections Code 15302 requires the Clerk to prepare and tranmit to the Board of Supervisors a statement of the results of the election. The entire results report will be available at the Clerk of the Board's Office for examination by the public prior to the meeting date.

ALTERNATIVES

The Board can decline the accept the certification of the Canvass; however, state law requires that it be reported to the governing board.

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT

The County Administrative Office has reviewed the recommendation.

FINANCING

There are no costs and no additional General Fund impact associated with this requested action.
