Adopt a resolution recognizing that the circumstances and factors that led to the May 6, 2014, proclamation of a local emergency due to drought conditions have not been resolved and that there is a need to continue the proclamation. |

California remains in a drought. Recent rains have improved the situation. |

On January 17, 2014, the Governor declared a Statewide Drought Emergency. On May 6, 2014, the Shasta County Board of Supervisors declared a local drought emergency. The drought continues. |

The Board may decline to maintain the drought finding. The drought will likely continue. |
| | | | | | | | OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT
The Fire Marshal and Farm Advisor provided input. County Counsel has approved the resolution as to form. The County Administrative Office has reviewed this recommendation. |

Adequate funds to prepare this staff report were included in the Adopted 2016/17 Water Agency budget. There is no General Fund impact. |
